Jakarta, September 24 (AseanAll) — On September 24, 2026, the Chinese Mission to ASEAN hosted a reception in Jakarta to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the China-ASEAN Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. ASEAN Secretary-General Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, diplomatic envoys to ASEAN, and representatives from think tanks, the media, businesses and other sectors attended the event, with more than 100 guests in attendance.
Chinese Ambassador to ASEAN Wang Qing highlighted the remarkable achievements China has made in advancing Chinese modernization under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. He reviewed the fruitful outcomes achieved in the development of the China-ASEAN Comprehensive Strategic Partnership over the past five years, and said that China stands ready to work with ASEAN countries to implement the four major global initiatives, advance the building of the “Five Homes,” and jointly build a closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future, so as to inject greater certainty and positive energy into the world.
ASEAN Secretary-General Dr. Kao Kim Hourn and Permanent Representative of Malaysia to ASEAN H.E. Sarah Al Bakri Devadason delivered remarks respectively. They spoke highly of China’s development achievements and noted the strong momentum in the ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, which has brought tangible and meaningful benefits to the peoples of both sides. They expressed the expectation that ASEAN-China relations will continue to achieve greater progress.
The event also featured the unveiling ceremony of a photo exhibition commemorating the 5th anniversary of the China-ASEAN Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Guests shared their appreciation of the longstanding friendship between China and ASEAN, and the reception was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
