Lao Vice President Receives Outgoing Ambassadors

Vientiane, August 1 (AseanAll)  — On August 1, 2024, Lao Vice President Pany Yathortou received a farewell visit from Ms. Ina Marčiulionytė, Ambassador of the European Union to Laos, and Ms. Annette Knobloch, Ambassador of Germany to Laos, on the occasion of their completion of diplomatic missions in the Lao PDR,according to Lao state news agency KPL.

At amicable talks, Pany Yathortou expressed her appreciation for the successful diplomatic work carried out by the ambassadors. She highlighted their significant contributions to strengthening diplomatic relations and promoting cooperation in various fields, particularly in economy, trade, investment, and education, as well as enhancing people-to-people exchanges between Laos, the European Union, and Germany. She also extended her best wishes for their success in their future noble tasks. 

In response, the EU and German ambassadors expressed their gratitude to Pany Yathortou for the warm reception and reported on the progress of their diplomatic efforts in Laos. They also expressed appreciation to the government, Party leaders, and the people of Laos for their support and facilitation during their tenure, which led to the fruitful outcomes of their missions.

On the same day, Ms. Khammani Pholsena, Head of the Presidential Office, also welcomed Ms. Annette Knobloch, Ambassador of Germany, in recognition of the successful completion of her diplomatic duties in Laos.
