Bangkok, October 3 (AseanAll) — On 29 September 2026, Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Abe Ichiro, President of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Bangkok, and Kondo Hiroyasu, President of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce Bangkok (JCCB), together with representatives of Japanese companies in Thailand.

The delegation paid a courtesy call on the Deputy Prime Minister to present the findings of the survey of Japanese companies operating in Thailand for the 1st half of 2026. Both sides exchanged views on ways to further promote economic cooperation between Thailand and Japan.

The Deputy Prime Minister reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to working and consulting closely with the private sector, while providing assurance of policy continuity and the Government’s efforts to create a conducive environment for investment and business in Thailand.
The Deputy Prime Minister also underscored the importance of strengthening partnerships between the Thai and Japanese private sectors to advance Thai industries towards future technologies and industries, while the Government stands ready to engage in co-creation with the private sector to develop new opportunities and areas of cooperation.
President of the JCCB reaffirmed the readiness of the Japanese private sector to contribute to further promoting and strengthening the economic partnership between Thailand and Japan.
