San Francisco, November 17 (AseanAll) —On 16 November 2023, Srettha Thavisin, Thai Prime Minister, had a bilateral meeting with Anthony Albanese, Prime Minister of Australia, during the APEC Economic Leaders' Week in San Francisco, United States,according to the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Prime Minister of Australia congratulated the Thai Prime Minister on his assumption of office and expressed his readiness to continue working with Thailand as a strategic partner. Australia underscored its commitment to engage with ASEAN under the ASEAN-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Both sides reiterated the special relations between Thailand and Australia from high-level to people-to-people ties. Both sides highlighted their Governments’ commitment to advance partnership on trade and investment, people-to-people exchange, as well as science, technology and innovation, for the mutual benefit of the two countries.
On this occasion, the Thai Prime Minister also reiterated his readiness to participate in ASEAN – Australia Special Summit on 4 – 6 March in Melbourne, Australia, during which he plans to discuss with the Australian private sector to ramp up trade and investment exchanges between Thailand and Australia.
