US President Joe Biden says relations between the United States and China were not weakened by the US's downing of a suspected Chinese spy balloon over the weekend.
Biden was asked by reporters on Monday if the balloon incident had weakened bilateral relations. The president said, "No."
He stated that the US had made it clear to China what it was going to do.
The president said that China understands the US position. He added that the US is not going to back off.
Biden said, "We did the right thing and it's not a question of weakening or strengthening -- it's reality."(NHK)
