Vientiane,January 30, 2023(AseanAll) - The Standing Committee of the 9th Lao National Assembly (NA) approved a host of personnel adjustments at its monthly regular meeting on January 30.
According to the official media of Laos,addressing a news conference on Monday, Vice President of the NA, Ms Sounthone Xayachak, said the Standing Committee of the NA’s 9th legislature approved the cabinet reshuffle at its monthly meeting taking place on January 30-31.
Former Minister of Finance Bounchom Oubonpaseuth has been replaced by the former governor of Savannakhet province, Santiphab Phomvihane. Mr Bounchom will take up a new post in Savannakhet province.
Former Minister of Energy and Mines Dr Daovong Phonekeo is replaced by the former governor of Saravan province, Phoxay Sayasone. Dr Daovong will take up a new post in the province.
Former Minister of Public Works and Transport Dr Viengsavath Siphandone was replaced by Mr Ngampasong Meuangmany. Dr Viengsavath will take up a new post in Luang Namtha province.
The adjustments were made at the proposal of Lao new Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone.
Previously, on December 30, 2022,The Lao National Assembly voted to approve the nomination of Deputy Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone as the new Prime Minister, replacing Phankham Viphavanh.
