Phnom Penh, January 29, 2023 (AseanAll) —The Extraordinary Congress of the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) was concluded on the evening of January 29 at the party's headquarters in Phnom Penh, under the chairmanship of CPP President Hun Sen, and CPP Honorary President Heng Samrin.
The two-day meeting discussed and adopted the report on the outcomes of the party's political agenda 2018-2022 and work direction in 2023 and its political agenda for the national development and defence 2023-2028.
The meeting reiterated the CPP's support for Hun Sen as the Prime Ministerial candidate for the 7th legislature of the National Assembly and Hun Manet, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, and Commander of the Royal Cambodian Army, as Prime Minister-candidate for the future.
It should be pointed out that Hun Manet is the eldest son of Hun Sen. Hun Sen has publicly stated many times that Hun Manet has the ability to be a candidate for the future Prime Minister.
