Jakarta, August 8 (AseanAll) — Indonesian President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on August 7 received a courtesy call from Parliament Speakers of Thailand, Malaysia and Laos at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.

“They talked about many issues in ASEAN, particularly regarding ASEAN’s credibility and unity，” Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno LP Marsudi said after accompanying the President on the courtesy call.
The President and the Speakers also agree about the importance of centrality in ASEAN in addressing many issues in the region.
“ASEAN has successfully proved itself as a contributor for peace and stability in region for 56 years” Retno Said.
The President further stated that ASEAN must ensure the implementation of Five-Point Consensus, and encourage Military Junta of Myanmar to implement it.
