Chinese Ambassador to U.S. Xie Feng Presents Letter of Credence to President Biden

Washington, July 4(AseanAll) — On June 30, 2023, U.S. President Joe Biden accepted the Letter of Credence of China’s new Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng in the Oval Office of the White House.  Biden welcomed  Xie to his new post, and had a conversation with Ambassador Xie on the China-U.S. relationship.

According to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs,Xie said that his appointment as the 12th Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the United States of America means to him not only honor, but also enormous responsibilities. In November 2022, President Xi Jinping and President Joe Biden had a successful meeting in Bali and reached important common understandings. China follows the three principles put forward by President Xi Jinping, namely, mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation. 

Xie said that It is hoped that the U.S. side will work with China in the same direction, earnestly act on the common understandings reached between the two Presidents in Bali, and explore the right way for the two countries to get along in the new era, so as to stabilize and bring the China-U.S. relationship back to the right track.



Xie arrived in the United States on May 23, 2023 to assume office.
