Beijing,January 18, 2023(AseanAll) The Cambodian ambassador to China said that Cambodia welcomed Chinese tourists with open arms and would not take discriminatory measures against Chinese tourists.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China,Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong met with Cambodian Ambassador to China Sisoda On January 17.
Sun introduced the epoch-making significance and major achievements of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, stressing that China is firmly committed to the path of peaceful development, unswerving in deepening reform and opening up, unswerving in comprehensively promoting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation through Chinese-style modernization, and promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. It will bring new opportunities for the common development of Cambodia and other countries in the world and for China-Cambodia relations.
Sun said that China has optimized and adjusted its COVID-19 prevention and control policies according to the time and situation, creating better conditions for safe, healthy and orderly exchanges between Chinese and foreign personnel. China appreciates Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and all sectors of Cambodia for warmly welcoming Chinese tourists to Cambodia and believes that China-Cambodia friendly exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation will make greater progress.
Sun aid that this year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Cambodia and the Year of China-Cambodia friendship. China cherishes its "hard-core" friendship with Cambodia and stands ready to work with the Cambodian side to earnestly implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, carry forward the friendship from generation to generation, strengthen strategic communication, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and jointly advance the building of a China-Cambodia community with a shared future so as to set a good example for the building of a new type of international relations.
Sisoda spoke highly of the CPC National Congress and expressed her belief that under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee, China will make greater contribution to world peace, stability, development and prosperity.
Sisoda said Cambodia welcomes Chinese tourists to Cambodia with open arms and will not take any discriminatory measures against them.
The ambassador said Cambodia appreciates China's long-term support for Cambodia's development and is willing to work with China to push for more practical results in the building of a Cambodia-China community with a shared future.
It should be noted that since China reopened its borders on January 8, South Korea, Japan and some Western countries have imposed restrictions on Chinese tourists, while ASEAN countries such as Thailand, Indonesia and Cambodia have welcomed Chinese tourists.
