Tokyo, June 7 (AseanAll) — On June 6, 2023, Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr Kao Kim Hourn made his first official visit to the ASEAN-Japan Centre (AJC) in Tokyo and held a meeting with the Secretary-General of AJC Kunihiko Hirabayashi.
They took the opportunity to discuss how the ASEAN Secretariat and the AJC can build closer cooperation to further advance ASEAN-Japan relations in the coming years, particularly in areas such as sustainable trade, sustainable investment, and sustainable tourism.
They also exchanged views on how AJC can contribute to the ASEAN Community Vision post-2025.
Dr Kao also took the opportunity to speak to students visiting the AJC. He shared some words of encouragement and underscored the importance of the youth in maintaining the strong people-to-people ties between ASEAN and Japan.
