Singapore, June 5 (AseanAll) — On June 4, Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto held a bilateral meeting with Chinese Defense Minister Li Shangfu, at the Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore.

According to the Indonesian Ministry of Defense,in this meeting, Prabowo expressed his full support for optimizing relations between Indonesia and China to achieve a comprehensive strategic partnership.
“I want the cooperation between Indonesia and China to be enhanced. Therefore, the establishment of the RI-China 2+2 forum is very important. This Forum is expected to significantly enhance comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of Defense and security in the future,” said Prabowo.

"I hope that the cooperation and friendship between the two countries will continue to be maintained with the spirit of brotherhood and the principle of mutual respect,” Prabowo continued.
According to Prabowo, this is in line with Indonesia's efforts to always commit to actively participate in various cooperative efforts to promote regional and global peace and stability.

Relations between Indonesia and China are strengthened by the annual bilateral forum, the Defence Industry Cooperation Meeting (DICM). As noted, several Chinese companies have established cooperation with Indonesian companies such as PT LEN, PTDI, and PT DAHANA.
