Laos’ Covid-19 vaccination reaches 76.8%

(KPL) The National Centre for Laboratory and Epidemiology, Ministry of Health has reported that more than 6.2 million people have been given at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccine representing 84% of population in the country with 5.6 million people, 74.6% of the population, fully vaccinated.



The accumulated number of Covid-19 infections in the Lao PDR currently stands at 217,868 including 671 deaths. Meanwhile the number of those given a fist booster dose has reached 2.33 million with those given a second booster shot reaching 426,034.


The centre noted this week that Covid-19 vaccination in Laos is relatively successful. However some districts in southern Laos are yet to achieve vaccine coverage targets, mostly due to transport issues.


Covid-19 vaccines are available nationwide - Vientiane: Mahosot Hospital, Mittaphab Hospital, Setthathirath Hospital, Children Hospital, Mother and Newborn Hospital, Hospital 103, district hospitals -, provincial hospitals, and district hospitals.
