Beijing, January 8,2023(AseanAll)Myanmar's new ambassador to China Tin Maung Swe has taken up his post in Beijing.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, On January 5, 2023, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs of the Foreign Ministry of China Wu Xi met at request with new Myanmar Ambassador to China Tin Maung Swe .
Wu Xi welcomed Tin Maung Swe to assume his new post, and briefed him on the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
Wu Xi also introduced the provisional measures on cross-border travel following the decision to manage COVID-19 with measures against Class-B infectious diseases.
The two sides also exchanged views on China-Myanmar consular relations.
According to the ASEANALL, the previous Myanmar ambassador to China U Myo Thant Pe died suddenly on August 7, 2022 during his visit to Kunming, Yunnan Province, southwest China.
U Myo Thant Pe was appointed ambassador to China in 2019 and stayed in his post after Myanmar's military took power in a coup in February 2021.
