According to the Thai government website,January 3, 2023, at 07.30 hrs, at Bhakdi Bodin Building, Government House, Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister and Acting Government Spokesperson Anucha Burapachaisri disclosed that Prime Minister and Defense Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha and spouse presided over a Buddhist ritual and ceremony on occasion of the New Year 2023. Participating in the ceremony were deputy prime ministers, members of the cabinet, Prime Minister’s Secretary General, political officials, chiefs of offices in the Government House, Government House officials, and concerned staffs.



Upon arrival, the Prime Minister lit candle and incense sticks to pay homage to the Triple Gems. Following the chanting by 10 senior monks, he led all the participants to present the monks with the triple robes and offerings. The monks chanted to accept the offerings before the Prime Minister poured the water of dedication, received the blessing, and paid homage to the Triple Gems and the senior monks. Somdet Phra Maha Ratcha Mongkhol Muni of Wat Traimit Temple, then, sprinkled lustral water to end the ceremony.
