Jinan, April 6 (AseanAll)  —The opening ceremony of the Consulate General of Cambodia in Jinan was held on April 6, 2023.

Wu Xi, Director of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, Deng Yunfeng, Deputy Governor of Shandong Province, as well as Cambodian Ambassador to China Sisoda attended.

Wu Xi, on behalf of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, delivered a speech stating that in February this year, Chinese leaders and visiting Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen reached an important consensus on building a high-quality, high-level, and high standard community with a shared future for China Cambodia in the new era, indicating the direction for the development of China Cambodia relations. The prospects for practical cooperation and exchanges between Shandong Province and Cambodia in various fields are broad. I believe that the opening of the Consulate General of Cambodia in Jinan will inject new vitality into expanding local exchanges and cooperation between China and Cambodia, and will further enrich the strategic connotation of bilateral relations between China and Cambodia.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry is ready to work with Shandong Province to provide convenience and assistance for the work of the Chinese Consulate General.

Deng Yunfeng said that the opening of the Cambodian Consulate General in Jinan will open a new chapter in the friendly cooperation between Shandong and Cambodia. Shandong Province will implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of China and Cambodia and contribute its strength to passing on the baton of China-Cambodia friendship from generation to generation.

In his speech, Ambassador Sisoda spoke highly of Cambodia-China friendly cooperative relations and the fruitful results of bilateral practical cooperation. It is believed that the opening of the Consulate General will actively promote exchanges and cooperation between Cambodia and Shandong Province in various fields and push forward bilateral relations.
