Chinese Ambassador to Brunei visits Pai Yuek School, Temburong and attends the Ramadhan Donation Ceremony

Temburong, February 28 (AseanAll)  — On 26th February, 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Brunei Chen Shaochun visited Pai Yuek School, Temburong District, Brunei and attended the Ramadhan Donation Ceremony. The school’s Chairman of the Board Koh Han Yong, Principal, Board Members and students as well as their families were present.

Chen Shaochun extended his Spring Festival greetings and Ramadhan wishes to all teachers and students. He commended the school for its steadfast commitment to Chinese-language education and noted that the school has played an important role in promoting multicultural integration and serving as a vital bridge for fostering mutual understanding and people-to-people bond between China and Brunei. 

The Ambassador expressed his hope that the school would continue to thrive and make greater contributions to preserving Chinese culture and promoting China-Brunei friendship. 

Chen Shaochun presented Ramadhan donations to the underprivileged students of the school and their families, toured the campus, and engaged in friendly discussions with representatives of the school's board of directors and principal.

It is reported that Pai Yuek School was founded in 1950 and is the only Chinese primary school in the Temburung District of Brunei. Most of its students are of non-Chinese descent. Upholding the educational traditions of Chinese schools, the school remains committed to teaching the Chinese language and offering calligraphy courses, and enjoys a good reputation in the local community.
