Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces receives courtesy call from High Commissioner of India to Brunei

Bandar Seri Begawan, February 16 (AseanAll)  — Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), on February 16, 2026 received a courtesy call from Shri Ramu Abbagani, High Commissioner of the Republic of India to Brunei Darussalam. 

Also in attendance was the Director of Intelligence, Ministry of Defence of Brunei.

During the courtesy call, the RBAF Commander reaffirmed the strong defence relation between the RBAF and the Indian Armed Forces. Both parties expressed satisfaction with the result of the inaugural Joint Working Group on Defence Cooperation (JDWC) Meeting, which took place in New Delhi in early December last year. Building upon the existing Memorandum of Understanding, both parties hoped that the JDWC would enhance bilateral defence cooperation through initiatives such as exchanges, information sharing, training programs, joint exercises, and collaborative projects within the defence industry.

Shri Ramu Abbagani has served as the High Commissioner of the Republic of India to Brunei Darussalam since July 2025.
