Bandar Seri Begawan, February 13 (AseanAll) — On February 11,2026, the 6th Brunei Primary School Painting Competition Award Ceremony and the Opening Ceremony of the Exhibition of Awarded Works were held in Bandar Seri Begawan.

Chinese Ambassador to Brunei Chen Shaochun and Yang Mulia Awang Aliuddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Education of Brunei, attended the event. Over 200 participants were present, including representatives from relevant government departments of Brunei, representatives of participating schools, award-winning students and their parents, as well as friends from various sectors.
Ambassador Chen, Deputy Permanent Secretary Aliuddin, and other distinguished guests presented awards to the winning students, jointly officiated the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the exhibition, toured the exhibition, and had friendly exchanges with participating teachers and students, encouraging them to actively contribute to the friendship between China and Brunei.
The Brunei Primary School Painting Competition is jointly organized by the Embassy of China in Brunei Darussalam and the Ministry of Education of Brunei. This year marks the 35th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between China and Brunei. With the theme “Jointing Hands for a China–Brunei Community with a Shared Future”, this year’s competition attracted more than 130 works from 14 schools across Brunei. Through their colorful brushes, the children expressed their aspiration and affection for China, painting vivid pictures of China–Brunei friendship and adding a bright highlight to the series of celebrations marking the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
