(AseanAll) — Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, on October 15, 2025 received in audience General Romeo Saturnino Brawner Jr., Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. The Audience ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman.
Accompanying the General was Marian Jocelyn R. Tirol-Ignacio, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippines to Brunei Darussalam.
Meanwhile, in another part of Istana Nurul Iman, Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam received in audience Madam Melody Valeros, spouse of the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of the Philippines enjoy close and long-standing bilateral relations, further strengthened by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on Defence Cooperation on 22 August 2001, as well as through ongoing defence cooperation across various multilateral platforms.
