Bandar Seri Begawan, July 15 (AseanAll)  — The Chinese Embassy in Brunei Darussalam released on July 15, 2026 the congratulatory message delivered by Chen Shaochun, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Brunei Darussalam, on the 80th birthday of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah. 

The full text of the message is as follows:

On the occasion of the 80th birthday of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations and best wishes.

Under the visionary leadership of His Majesty, Brunei enjoys political stability and social harmony, makes steady progress in economic diversification and growth, takes solid strides toward its Wawasan 2035, and continues to make positive contributions to regional and international affairs.

China and Brunei are close and friendly neighbors. Last February, His Majesty paid a successful state visit to China, during which our two heads of state reached the important consensus on working towards a China-Brunei community with a shared future, opening a new chapter in bilateral relations.

This year marks the 35th anniversary of China-Brunei diplomatic relations. China stands ready to work with Brunei to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, carry forward the traditional friendship, strengthen strategic communication, deepen practical cooperation, so as to promote the China-Brunei community with a shared future to new heights, deliver more benefits to the two peoples, and provide more positive energy for peace and stability in the region.
