Vietnamese President pays official visit to Thailand

Bangkok, May 28 (AseanAll)  — On May 28, 2026,  in front of the Thai Khu Fah Building, Government House, Thai Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul welcomed To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam and the President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, and spouse Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly on occasion of the Vietnamese President’s official visit to Thailand as guest of the Thai Government.

Upon arrival, the Prime Minister extended a warm welcome and accompanied the President of Viet Nam in reviewing the Guard of Honor. Following the welcome ceremony, the Prime Minister invited the President of Viet Nam and his spouse into the Thai Khu Fah Building for a joint photograph at the central staircase, a signing of the Government’s guest book, and the viewing of commemorative items in the Ivory Room.

Subsequently, a constituency meeting was held, during which both sides exchanged views on regional and global developments and reaffirmed their commitment to elevating Thai–Viet Nam cooperation in all dimensions, be it, economic, trade, investment, security, and regional cooperation, before proceeding to the plenary meeting at Bhakdi Bodin Building.

Participants in the plenary meeting for the Thai side included: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Ekniti Nitithanprapas; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Yodchanan Wongsawat; and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Suphajee Suthumpun. On the Viet Nam side: Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, Chairman of the Central Organization Commission, Mr. Phan Van Giang, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense, Mr. Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Minister of Construction, Mr. Le Hoai Trung, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ngo Van Tuan, Minister of Finance, Mr. Le Manh Hung, Minister of Industry and Trade, Mr. Vu Hai Quan, Minister of Science and Technology.
