Bangkok, May 7 (AseanAll)  — Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Zhang Jianwei met with Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Ekniti Nitithanprapas on May 6,2026.

Zhang Jianwei stated that bilateral investment cooperation is an important component of China-Thailand friendship. China and Thailand share similar economic development concepts with great potential for economic and trade cooperation. China is willing to strengthen the alignment of development strategies with Thailand, deepen exchanges and cooperation in the economic and financial fields, jointly address external challenges for the next golden 50 years of China-Thailand relations.

Ekniti Nitithanprapas highly praised Thai-Chinese economic and trade cooperation and stated that Thailand is willing to take the opportunity of hosting the World Bank and International Monetary Fund Annual Meetings this year to strengthen financial dialogue and policy exchanges between the two countries, create a better business environment for Chinese enterprises to invest and develop in Thailand, and promote Thai-Chinese economic and trade cooperation to a new level.
