(AseanAll)  — On April 02, 2026, The President of the Republic of Timor-Leste, J. Ramos-Horta, received the audience from the President of the National Parliament of Timor-Leste, Maria Fernanda Lay, to report on parliamentary activities conducted from January to March 2026.

On this occasion, the President of the National Parliament informed that, regarding the establishment of the Supreme Court of Justice of Timor-Leste, the National Parliament will seek support from the Superior Council of the Portuguese Magistracy during her upcoming official visit.

Furthermore, Fernanda Lay reported that the National Parliament has ratified several bilateral agreements established between Timor-Leste and other nations, as presented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (MNEC).

The President of the Republic also received updates on parliamentary work related to CPLP (Community of Portuguese Language Countries) affairs, for which Timor-Leste currently holds the Presidency. This included the National Parliament’s efforts to anticipate the global situation in the Middle East, which is already impacting the global economy.
