Phnom Penh, February 5 (AseanAll) — The Philippine Government will repatriate 191 Filipinos from scam centers in Cambodia on 5 February 2026. The Philippine Embassy in Phnom Penh, in coordination with Cambodian police and immigration authorities, has expedited exit clearances and waived immigration penalties to facilitate their return.

The Cambodian Government’s intensified crackdown on online scam operations led the Cambodian National Police to rescue any Filipinos for repatriation, while others escaped from scam compounds.
The 191 Filipinos are scheduled to arrive in Manila on a special Philippine Airlines flight from Phnom Penh funded by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) of the Philippines. To ensure the Filipinos’ safe return home, the DMW also deployed Rapid Response Teams in Phnom Penh, working with officials from the Philippine Embassy in Cambodia under the one-country-team approach.
In 2025, the Embassy repatriated 377 alleged Filipino human trafficking victims from Cambodia and 266 more in January 2026. The Philippine Government strongly warns Filipinos against suspicious overseas job offers–especially those promising high salaries and free accommodation in customer service, call center, or AI-related roles–that often lead to inhumane conditions, unpaid wages, and abuse.
