Phnom Penh, January 9 (AseanAll)  — The President of the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP),  Hun Sen, congratulated Dr. Thongloun Sisoulith on his reelection as the General Secretary of the Central Committee of Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) at the 12th National Congress of the LPRP Central Committee,according to Cambodian People’s Party.

“Your re-election to this top position is a clear testament to the strong confidence of the LPRP and the people of the Lao PDR in your competence and wise leadership in guiding national development so that its people can enjoy sustained peace, stability and growing prosperity,” Hun Sen underlined in his congratulatory message dated January 8,2026.

The CPP President expressed his firm belief that under Dr. Thongloun Sisoulith’s righteous, far-sighted and forward-looking leadership, the LPRP will win even greater trust and support from the Lao people and achieve resounding success in implementing the policies and decisions adopted at the 12th National Congress.

Hun Sen is also convinced that the bonds of traditional friendship, solidarity, and cooperation on all fronts between the CPP and LPRP, and between the two peoples, will grow stronger over the years under the spirit of the “comprehensive cooperation and long-lasting stability.”
