Cambodia-India hold 3rd Foreign Office Consultations in Siem Reap

(AseanAll)  — The 3rd India-Cambodia Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) were held in Siem Reap, Cambodia on March 10, 2025, according to the Ministry of External Affairs of India.

The Indian delegation was led by Shri Jaideep Mazumdar, Secretary (East) and the Cambodian delegation was led by Dr. UN Kheang, Secretary of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The consultations were held in a warm and friendly atmosphere and provided an opportunity to review the entire gamut of bilateral relations including political cooperation, trade & investment, defence & security, development assistance, heritage conservation & restoration and consular issues. The two sides also exchanged views on regional and multilateral issues of mutual interest.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the progress made across various sectors of bilateral engagement and agreed to explore new avenues of cooperation including in health and digital technologies.

Secretary (East) along with Secretary of State of Cambodia also visited Asian Traditional Textile Museum (established with Indian assistance under the Mekong Ganga Cooperation) as well as the Ta Prohm Temple, site of an Indian assisted conservation and restoration project.

Cambodia is an important pillar in India’s Act East Policy and Vision of the Indo-Pacific. Cambodia is also a key partner of India in the Global South.

It was agreed to convene the next FOC at a mutually convenient date.
