A Muslim Leader Says Cambodia is a Model Nation of Racial and Religious Harmony

(AseanAll)  — Visiting Dr. Mohammed Said Al-Majdouie, Assistant to the Secretary General for International Relations and Communication of the Muslim World League said that Cambodia is a model country in the world that can ensure racial and religious harmony.

On February 27, 2025,Dr. Mohammed Said Al-Majdouie made the remarks when he paid a courtesy call on Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, prior to the opening ceremony of the first ever Islamic Summit in Cambodia, organised by the Muslim World League under the theme “Islam and Buddhism”.

Dr. Mohammed Said Al-Majdouie thanked Cambodia for the warm hospitality, and spoke highly of the Kingdom’s rapid progress in all sectors, especially economy and education, which has attracted attention of countries around the world.

In response, Hun Manet emphasised that Cambodia is a country that respects and values the observance of various religious beliefs, and reaffirmed the Royal Government’s continued attention to ensuring the harmonious coexistence of different religions in Cambodian society.

Hun Manet also laid stress on the importance and role of religion in contribution to the citizen education for a society without conflicts, but with peace, stability and development.

In the digital age, the Premier continue, religion plays a more important role in promoting citizen education. In Cambodia, religion has contributed greatly to promoting education about human values, morality, and virtue, and building oneself as a good citizen for the nation.
