Secretary-General of ASEAN inaugurates First CPR Meeting of 2025

Jakarta, January 9 (AseanAll)  —The Opening Ceremony of the inaugural meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR) in 2025 was held onJanuary 9, 2025 at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat, following Malaysia’s official assumption of the ASEAN Chairmanship on 1 January 2025, under the theme ‘Inclusivity and Sustainability.’ 

The Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, officiated at the Ceremony and was attended by all Permanent Representatives and the Ambassador of Timor-Leste to ASEAN.

During the Opening Ceremony, Kao Kim Hourn reaffirmed the ASEAN Secretariat’s unwavering support for the work of CPR, under the leadership of Sarah Al Bakri Devadason, Permanent Representative of Malaysia to ASEAN, who is the CPR Chair for 2025. 

Kao Kim Hourn also underscored the importance of the work of the CPR in advancing ASEAN’s priorities and strengthening regional integration as ASEAN approaches the culmination of the ASEAN Community Blueprints 2025 and lays the groundwork for the ASEAN Community Vision 2045.
