(AseanAll) — Thongloun Sisoulith, Secretary General of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and Lao State President, warmly received Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo Member, Chairman of the Central Theory Council, and Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, along with his delegation, at the Party Central Committee Office in Vientiane on November 26, 2024,according to Lao state news agency KPL.
The visit, taking place from November 26-29, underscores efforts to strengthen ties between Laos and Vietnam.
During the meeting, Lao President Thongloun expressed his delight at welcoming Nguyen Xuan Thang and his delegation.
He highlighted the importance of the visit in enhancing the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, states, and peoples of Laos and Vietnam.
Thongloun extended his best wishes for the delegation's successful visit, emphasizing its role in fostering closer bilateral ties.
In response, Nguyen Xuan Thang thanked President Thongloun for the warm hospitality and provided an overview of his delegation's visit to the Lao PDR.
