Cambodia, Japan Discuss Bilateral Cooperation Expansion

Phnom Penh,November 27 (AseanAll)  —  On behalf of PRAK Sokhonn, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation,Ms. EAT Sophea, Secretary of State at the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFAIC) and Advisor to Cambodian Prime Minister HUN Manet, received a courtesy call by Mrs. ERI Arfiya, Parliamentary Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan,on the afternoon of 26 November 2024, at the Ministry.

During the meeting, Ms. EAT Sophea expressed her welcome and appreciation to Ms. ERI Arfiya for the participation in the Siem Reap-Angkor Summit on a Mine-Free World in Siem Reap province,Cambodia.

In response, Ms. ERI Arfiya expressed her thankfulness for warm welcome and cordial hospitality extended to her and the Japanese delegation, especially an opportunity to pay a courtesy call on Cambodian Prime Minister.

Ms. EAT Sophea and Ms. ERI Arfiya discussed the strengthening and deepening of Cambodia-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, and the importance of new cooperation approach focusing on three key areas, such as social infrastructure development, maritime connectivity and mine action.

The discussion also covered other important sectors, including politics, economy, democracy promotion and human rights, as well as regional and international developments of common concerns.
