Cambodian, Vietnamese Prime Ministers Discuss Continued Strengthening of Bilateral Cooperation

Kunming,November 7 (AseanAll)  — Cambodia and Vietnam have discussed the continuation of strengthening and expansion of their bilateral cooperation in a number of key areas, including tourism, infrastructure connectivity, energy, people-to-people exchanges as well as education, youth and culture.

The discussion took place on November 6 evening between Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and his Vietnamese counterpart Pham Minh Chinh, during their bilateral talks on the sidelines of a series of summits in Kunming, China’s Yunnan province.

Hun Manet spoke highly of the progress in the Cambodia-Vietnam relations, especially in the areas of trade and economy.

The Cambodian Premier also thanked the Vietnamese government and authorities for facilitating the procession of the “Great Khmer Family Solidarity Kathina”, led by Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross, to Pothikirivongsaram (Svay Siem Thmey) pagoda in the Vietnamese province of Tra Vinh (Preah Trapeang).

For his part, Pham Minh Chinh praised the development of Cambodia under the leadership of Hun Manet , despite global economic pressure, as well as Cambodia’s reputation being enhanced on the international stage.
