Kunming,November 6 (AseanAll) — Governor of China’s Yunnan province Wang Yubo has pledged to examine the possibility of providing more scholarships to Cambodian students to pursue their studies in Yunnan and to encourage more Chinese tourists to visit the Kingdom.
Wang Yubo made the promise when he was received by Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, following his arrival in Kunming on the evening of November 5 for a series of summits in Kunming,Yunnan.
The Yunnan governor also briefed the Cambodian Premier on the development and potential of his province and lauded the progress in the cooperation between Yunnan and Cambodia, especially through the exchange of visits, trade and people-to-people contacts.
For his part, Hun Manet thanked the Chinese side for the warm hospitality and praised Yunnan for its growth, which is an engine for China’s economy.
Moreover, the Prime Minister highly valued the steady development of Cambodia-China relations, while China has played an important role in contributing to Cambodia’s socio-economic development. He also highlighted the potential in many fields for future cooperation between Cambodia and Yunnan.
Hun Manet and Wang Yubo exchanged views on the promotion of cooperation in a number of key areas, including trade, investment, industry, energy, infrastructure, agriculture, education and training, and tourism.
