Chinese Ambassador Ma Jia Presents the Credentials to Myanmar Leader Min Aung Hlaing

Nay Pyi Taw, August 22 (AseanAll)  — On August 21, 2024, Ms. Ma Jia, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, presented the credentials to Myanmar leader Min Aung Hlaing.

Ma Jia conveyed Chinese President Xi Jinping and Chinese Premier Li Qiang's warm regards and introduced the current progress of China-Myanmar cooperation. 

She emphasized her commitment to advancing friendly relations, mutual trust, and collaboration between the two countries and deepening the "Pauk-Phaw" friendship during her tenure. The decisions made during the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee on further deepening reform to advance Chinese modernization will provide further opportunities for enhanced mutually beneficial cooperation and shared development between China and Myanmar. China will steadfastly pursue a friendly policy towards Myanmar and welcomes deeper coordination to jointly implement the consensus reached during President Xi's visit to Myanmar in 2020, for jointly building a China-Myanmar community with a shared future. It is hoped that Myanmar will effectively safeguard the safety of Chinese personnel and projects in Myanmar and create a safe environment for bilateral exchanges and cooperation.

Min Aung Hlaing requested Ambassador Ma Jia to convey his sincere greetings to President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang, and welcomed her assumption of office. 

He also noted that Myanmar and China jointly initiated the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence and have consistently carried out friendly cooperation in accordance with the Principles. With the longstanding friendship between Myanmar and China, Myanmar highly values its relations with China and is committed to promoting bilateral cooperation in various fields and strengthening the traditional "Pauk-Phaw" friendship to bring benefits to the two peoples. Myanmar will make every effort to safeguard the safety of Chinese personnel and projects in Myanmar, effectively secure the stability of Myanmar-China border, and will never allow any acts that undermines China's security and interests.

Minister Counselor Cao Jing, Army Attache Senior Colonel Zheng Zijie from the Embassy of China, and Myanmar State Administration Council Joint Secretary U Ye Win Oo, Myanmar Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe attended the event.

Ambassador Ma Jia arrived in Myanmar on August 12 and presented the copy of credentials to U Than Swe on August 13.
