(AseanAll)  — China has provided a training manual as part of a grant program aimed at enhancing the capacity of teachers in rural areas of Lao PDR.

According to Lao state news agency KPL, the handover ceremony took place last week and was attended by Lao Minister of Education and Sports Phout Simmalavong, Vice Chairman of the Laos-China Cooperation Committee Mr. Xayxana Sitthiphong, and Chinese Ambassador to Lao PDR Ms. Fang Hong.

The manual includes guidelines for developing an education and training system for principals and teachers in primary and secondary schools in Laos. This initiative is designed to upgrade the skills of teachers in rural areas. The ongoing monitoring of the handbook's use will help strengthen the friendship between China and Laos.

Chinese Ambassador Fang Hong noted that the handbook reflects over 40 years of China's experience in education. It serves as a testament to the long-standing cooperation between China and Lao PDR, offering valuable insights to enhance the capabilities of Lao PDR's principals and teachers, improve their training systems, and support their professional development.
