Manila, September 11 (AseanAll) — Philippine President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. issued Proclamation No. 1428, “Creating and Designating Several Parcels of Land, Located at Barangay Malbang, Municipality of Maasim, Province of Sarangani, as a Special Economic Zone, Pursuant to Republic Act No. 7916, as amended by Republic Act No. 8748.”
Marcos created and designated the parcels of land pursuant to the powers vested in the President under Republic Act (RA) No. 7916 or the “Special Economic Zone Act of 1995,” as amended by RA No. 8748, and upon the recommendation of the Board of Directors of the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA).”
The aforementioned parcels of land were created and designated as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ), to be known as Malbang Industrial Ecozone, subject to the provisions of RA No. 7916, as amended, its Implementing Rules and Regulations, and PEZA Board of Directors Resolution No. 12-329 (s. 2012) and Resolution No. 24-372 (s. 2024), with an aggregate area of about 142,568 square meters.
The nine lots, each cover about 15,841 square meters, except Lot 3, which covers about 15,840 square meters.
By authority of the President, Acting Executive Secretary Ralph G. Recto signed the proclamation on September 8,2026.
