Myanmar and UAE will increase cooperation in tourism, trade and other fields

Nay Pyi Taw, June 12 (AseanAll)  — Myanmar and UAE will increase cooperation in tourism, trade and other fields.

According to Myanmar state media Myawady News, Myanmar Chairman of the State Administration Council,Prime Minister,Senior General Min Aung Hlaing accepted the Credentials of Mutaz Abdullah Abdulijaleel Mohamed AI Faheem, the newly-accredited Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, at the Credentials Hall of the Office of the State Administration Council Chairman, in Nay Pyi Taw, on June 11,2024.

Afterwards, both sides cordially discussed diplomatic relations between the two countries, extension of direct flights, promotion of cooperation in tourism, trade and other fields, SAC’s endeavours to steer the country firmly on the path to multi-party democracy, aspired by the people, political changes and developments in Myanmar, preparation to hold a free and fair multi-party democracy general election, scrutiny measures and other arrangements taken under bilateral agreement between Myanmar and Bangladesh for the displaced persons in northern Rakhine State.

After the meeting, the Senior General and the UAE Ambassador posed for group documentary photos.

Also present on occasion were SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Myanmar Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe and Director-General of the Protocol Department U Wunna Han.
