New Delhi, September 12 (AseanAll) — On 12 September 2026, Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Ms. Maria Theresa P. Lazaro, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines, on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Leaders' Summit in New Delhi, India.
Both sides agreed to promote high-level exchanges and strengthen cooperation in the ASEAN Framework, with the Philippines as the current ASEAN Chair.
They also discussed latest developments relating to the situation in Myanmar, following the informal meeting between ASEAN Foreign Ministers and Myanmar Foreign Minister that Thailand hosted in July this year.
