Thailand – Singapore to further strengthen strategic partnership

(AseanAll)  — On September 2, 2026, at the Mandarin Hotel Bangkok, Thai Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul and Lawrence Wong, Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore held a joint press conference following the 5th Thailand–Singapore Leaders’ Retreat. 

Participants in the 5th Thailand–Singapore Leaders’ Retreat for the Thai side included Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Minister of Defense, Minister of Digital Economy and Society, Minister of Social Development and Human Security, and Minister of Labor. The Singaporean delegation comprised Minister for Defense and Minister in charge of Public Service Coordination, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, Minister in charge of Trade Relations, Minister for Social and Family Development, and Minister for Digital Development and Information.

After the meeting, the Prime Ministers of both countries witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between Ministry of Social Development and Human Security of the Kingdom of Thailand and Ministry of Social and Family Development of the Republic of Singapore. The MoU prescribes collaboration in the fields of social welfare, community development, persons with disabilities, women, children, and families, as well as exchange of personnel between relevant agencies.
