Fourth Meeting of the Sub-Committee on Trade and Investment of the China-Thailand Joint Economic and Trade Commission Held in Bangkok

 (AseanAll)  — On July 9, Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce Yan Dong and Vice Minister for Commerce Piyanuch Wuttisorn of Thailand co-chaired the fourth meeting of the Sub-Committee on Trade and Investment of the China-Thailand Joint Economic and Trade Commission in Bangkok, Thailand. The two sides had in-depth exchanges of views on deepening bilateral trade, investment, and regional and multilateral cooperation.

Yan Dong stated that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China-Thailand economic and trade relations have made steady progress with fruitful outcomes. During the 15th Five-Year Plan period, China will focus on promoting high-quality development and steadily expanding high-standard opening up, offering greater opportunities to countries around the world, including Thailand. China stands ready to work with Thailand to strengthen alignment of economic and trade policies and plans, promote high-quality development of trade and investment cooperation, deepen regional and multilateral economic and trade cooperation, and contribute to building a more stable, prosperous, and sustainable China-Thailand community with a shared future.

Piyanuch Wuttisorn expressed appreciation for the positive outcomes achieved in bilateral economic and trade cooperation. She noted Thailand’s hope to deepen cooperation with China in areas such as agricultural trade, e-commerce, and small and medium-sized enterprises, expand Thailand’s exports to China through such platforms as the China International Import Expo, the China-ASEAN Expo, and the “Big Market for All: Export to China” series of events, and expressed the readiness to create a favorable business environment for Chinese enterprises to invest in Thailand.
