Minister of the IDCPC Meets with Chairman of the PAP External Relations Committee and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Singapore

Beijing,May 25 (AseanAll)  — Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met with Vivian Balakrishnan, Chairman of the External Relations Committee of the People's Action Party (PAP) and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Singapore in Beijing, on May 25th,2026. 

Liu stated, over the 36 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries, China-Singapore relations have developed steadily, yielding fruitful results in cooperation across various fields. Exchanges between the ruling parties of China and Singapore are an important component of bilateral relations, consistently playing a positive and significant role in promoting the development of China-Singapore relations and enhancing friendship between the two countries. The CPC is willing to work with the PAP to implement the important consensus reached between President Xi Jinping and Singaporean leaders, make good use of the annual delegation exchange mechanism between the two Parties, strengthen exchanges and mutual learning of experience on state governance and administration, promote cooperation among youth, think tanks, and local governments, and consolidate the political foundation for China-Singapore friendship. Liu also introduced the CPC's concepts and practices in strengthening its own construction and promoting self-revolution, as well as the relevant situation regarding the educational campaign on establishing and practicing a correct view on governance performance. 

Vivian stated, exchanges between the ruling parties of Singapore and China are an important channel for promoting the development of bilateral relations. Both the PAP and the CPC are long-term ruling parties, both adhering to a people-centered approach and leading their respective nations to transform their landscapes. Both sides share many common topics and face similar challenges. The world today is undergoing profound and complex changes. The PAP is willing to deepen ideological exchanges with the CPC, strengthen mutual learning, promote exchanges and cooperation among youth, women, and party schools, and enhance mutual understanding and trust. Singapore is willing to continue participating in China's modernization process and promote greater achievements in Singapore-China cooperation. 

Sun Haiyan, Vice-minister of the IDCPC, and Peter Tan, Singaporean Ambassador to China, attended the meeting.
