(AseanAll) — On May 12, 2026, at Thai Government House, President of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) PimjaiLeeissaranukul led the organization’s executive committee members to pay a courtesy call on Thai Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul.

Participating in the meeting were Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Ekniti Nitithanprapas, Thai Deputy Prime Minister Pakorn Nilprapunt, Thai Minister of Labor Julapun Amornvivat, Permanent Secretary to Ministry of Industry, and representatives of other relevant agencies.
The Prime Minister was pleased to meet with the newly appointed FTI executive committee, and commended their genuine understanding of the industrial sector, both as entrepreneurs and experienced industrialists. He expressed confidence that under the leadership of the FTI President, and through close cooperation between the public and private sectors, Thailand’s economy and industrial sector will be strengthened to achieve robust growth, generating income for entrepreneurs at all levels, and improving the quality of life and earnings of the Thai workers in a tangible manner.
According to the Prime Minister, recommendations presented today by FTI are consistent with the Government’s policy directive to upgrade the country’s economic and industrial structure for long‑term competitiveness. The Government aims to support SMEs in gaining more access to financing, technology, innovation, and new markets, as well as to restructure the energy sector towards clean energy, an important mechanism for strengthening the national economy.
The Government stands ready to provide support and to continuously listen to recommendations from the private sector, including FTI, in order to identify approaches that are appropriate and in line with the current economic situation. This is so that Thailand’s economic and industrial development can advance with stability, balance, and sustainability in the long run.
FTI President expressed appreciation to the Prime Minister and other ministers for the meeting, and introduced the new executive team for the 2026–2028 term. She also presented the Prime Minister with FTI recommendations for promoting Thailand’s economy and industrial sector under the concept ‘The New Chapter of Thai Industry 5I’. They are: (1) Intelligent Industry; (2) Innovation & Creative Industry; (3) International Alliance & Network; (4) Industrial Infrastructure Reform; and (5) Inclusive & Sustainable Growth. The aims are to promote the ‘Made in Thailand (MIT)’ products; integrate cooperation to support SMEs in accessing technology, innovation, financing, and new markets; strengthen energy security to enhance Thailand’s competitiveness; reform laws and regulations, accelerate infrastructure investment; and upgrade industrial waste management. The ultimate goal is to foster environmentally friendly production, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, efficiently utilize resources, and drive a low‑carbon economy that balances economic, social, and environmental dimensions.
