Cambodian Ministry of Commerce Seeks Closer Cooperation with ASEAN-China Centre

 (AseanAll)  — On 27 April 2026, Shi Zhongjun, Secretary General of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), met with  Lim Lork Piseth, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia, in Phnom Penh.

Shi Zhongjun briefed on the ACC’s key project plans on training programme in such areas as agriculture, trade, investment, tourism, and SMEs for 2026. He noted that Cambodia is an important partner of China. This year marks the 5th anniversary of ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the ACC. It is hoped that both sides will take this opportunity to enhance cooperation, contribute to the building of the Cambodia-China community with a shared future, and promote the ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to deeper levels.

Lim Lork Piseth appreciated the ACC for its long-standing and valuable contributions to advancing cooperation between Cambodia and China in economy, trade, agriculture, tourism and other fields. He stated that China boasts a vast market, advanced technologies and rich development experience. Cambodia stands ready to leverage the ACC’s advantageous platform and resources to further scale up practical cooperation with China in relevant sectors and deliver more tangible outcomes.
