Kuala Lumpur, March 19 (AseanAll) — On March 18,2026, Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Ouyang Yujing attended and delivered remarks at BookFest @ Malaysia 2026.

Present were Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture of Malaysia, Chiew Choon Man; Chairman of Popular Holdings Limited, Dr. Yiu Chi Shing, and Group Editor-in-Chief of Media Chinese International Limited, Kuik Cheng Kang, among close to 200 guests from various sectors.
Ouyang Yujing said that China and Malaysia have forged a stable and effective cooperation through copyright collaboration, joint publishing, textbook development, and promotion of reading. 2026 marks an important year as China's 15th Five-Year Plan and Malaysia’s 13th Malaysia Plan kick off. He looks forward to both sides leveraging books as a medium to expand people-to-people exchanges and cooperation, as well as to advance the building of a high-level strategic China-Malaysia community with a shared future to a deeper and richer level.
Chiew Choon Man said that Chinese-language reading has an important place in Malaysian society, and Chinese-language education and publishing have long contributed to the inheritance of Chinese culture.
Ambassador Ouyang also attended and delivered a speech at the Opening Ceremony of the Hong Kong Pavilion.
