Singapore, February 12 (AseanAll) — On 11 February, 2026, the Chinese Embassy in Singapore hosted a Chinese New Year Reception for the Year of the Horse.

Chinese Ambassador to Singapore Cao Zhongming and Madam Yang Qing attended the event, together with over 600 guests from all walks of life including former Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore Mr. Heng Swee Keat and his spouse, Attorney-General Lucien Wong, Ambassador-at-Large Chan Heng Chee, as well as diplomatic envoys from ASEAN countries, representatives of Chinese institutions and enterprises, and Chinese students in Singapore.
In his remarks, Ambassador Cao pointed out that the past year saw the successful conclusion of China’s 14th Five-Year Plan. Standing at the milestone of the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations, China and Singapore deepened exchanges and cooperation across the board, achieving fruitful results.

The Ambassador said that the year 2026 marks the beginning of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan, and the Chinese Embassy stands ready to join hands with all friends to "gallop ahead", and to write new chapters of breakthroughs and achievements.
The reception featured robotic lions and humanoid robots greeting guests and performing exciting dance. Children of Embassy diplomats sang the song "Climbing Spring Mountains", while artists from Yunnan performed face-changing, classic dance and acrobatics. These breathtaking shows blended tradition with modernity, and highlighted the unique charm of the Spring Festival.
