"Happy Chinese New Year" enters Government House of Thailand

Bangkok, February 10 (AseanAll)  — On February 10th,2026, the Thai Prime Minister's Office hosted a "Happy Chinese New Year" celebration at the beginning of the next Golden Jubilee of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand for the joint celebration of Chinese Lunar New Year, the Year of the Horse. 

Zhang Jianwei Chinese Ambassador to Thailand, and Anutin Charnvirakul,Thai Prime Minister attended the event. Mr.Pipat Ratchakitprakarn, Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Ms.Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Director-General of the Tourism Authority of Thailand and other dignitaries attended the event.

Ambassador Zhang stated that the Chinese New Year is a shared festival between Chinese and Thai people and is welcomed by all sectors of Thai society. The Ambassador presented a "lucky horse" as a gift to Prime Minister Anutin, who then offered his best wishes in Chinese, wishing all the people full of energy, successful in all endeavors, and a warm welcome to more Chinese tourists to visit Thailand.

The Prime Minister's Office set up a special backdrop with a "Happy Chinese New Year" theme to celebrate the Year of the Horse. Thai lion dance performances added to the festivities, and Chinese and Thai media filmed and reported on the event. The courtyard was filled with joy and a strong festive atmosphere.

Since its start in 2004, Thailand's Chinese New Year has become the longest-running, largest, highest-level, and most influential Chinese New Year festival all over the world.
