(AseanAll) — On 22 January 2026, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd. Yussof, Bruneian Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II received a farewell call from Laurence Bay Siow Hon, High Commissioner of the Republic of Singapore to Brunei Darussalam.
During the call, both sides expressed delight on the longstanding and special defence relations shared by Brunei Darussalam and Republic of Singapore. This includes active exchanges of visits, defence-related agreements, meetings including the Defence Policy Dialogue, military exercises, courses, and several initiatives under the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM) framework.
Yussof conveyed the Ministry’s warmest appreciation for His Excellency's contributions towards deepening the friendship and people-to-people cooperation between both countries.
Laurence Bay Siow Hon presented his Letter of Credence to the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on 13 September 2023.
