Beijing, December 27 (AseanAll) — On the evening of December 27, 2025,a spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs answered questions from reporters regarding the signing of the joint ceasefire declaration by Cambodia and Thailand.

A reporter asked, "On December 27, Cambodia and Thailand signed a joint statement agreeing to a ceasefire at the Special General Border Committee (GBC) meeting. What is China’s comment?"
In response, the spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that China welcomes the joint statement between Cambodia and Thailand agreeing to a ceasefire. This proves that dialogue and consultation is a viable and effective way to resolve complex disputes. China, ASEAN and the international community have made common efforts to this end. China stands ready to continue to provide platform and create conditions for Cambodia and Thailand to have fuller and more detailed communication.
The spokesperson added that Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Chinese Foreign Minister, will meet with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn and Thai Foreign Minister Norodom Sihasak in Yunnan Province from December 28 to 29. Military representatives from the three countries will also participate.
