Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Attends Handover Ceremony of Solar Photovoltaic System at Yezin Agricultural University

Nay Pyi Taw, December 25 (AseanAll)  — The handover ceremony of the solar photovoltaic system donated by the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar to Yezin Agricultural University was held at the university on December 24th,2025.

Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Ma Jia and Myanmar’s Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation Dr. Tin Htut attended the event and delivered speeches.

Ma Jia stated that the Chinese Embassy has always followed Myanmar’s post-disaster reconstruction with great concern and supported the completion and operation of the solar photovoltaic system at Yezin Agricultural University. This initiative not only effectively addresses the university’s electricity shortage but also injects new momentum into China-Myanmar cooperation in agricultural science and technology.

The Myanmar side expressed sincere appreciation for China’s donation, stating that the stable power supply has significantly improved teaching conditions and facilitated research and education activities. The project not only demonstrates China’s selfless assistance to Myanmar’s agricultural education but also provides valuable support for advancing the modernization of its agriculture.

With an annual power generation capacity of 256,000 kWh, the system is expected to save the university more than USD 30,000 in electricity costs each year. It is capable of providing up to six hours of emergency power supply with energy storage batteries and will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 218 tons per year.
