Cambodia and Brazil to Strengthen and Expand Relations and Cooperation for Greater Prosperity

Phnom Penh, December 2 (AseanAll)  — On the morning of 2 December 2025 at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh, Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received a courtesy call from Vivian Loss Sanmartin, Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil to Cambodia.

The Ambassador expressed her deep gratitude to Hun Manet for granting her and her colleagues the opportunity to pay a courtesy call and hold discussions. She expressed great pleasure at being appointed as the first Brazilian Ambassador to Cambodia in over 30 years of bilateral relations. 

Furthermore, she commended the continued progress in bilateral relations, which has led to the reciprocal opening of embassies. During her diplomatic tenure, the Ambassador pledged to work to further strengthen and advance relations and cooperation between the two countries across more sectors.

Hun Manet welcomed and expressed his pleasure at meeting with the Ambassador, congratulating her on her appointment as the first Brazilian Ambassador to Cambodia. He warmly welcomed the reciprocal opening of embassies and expressed confidence that under the Ambassador’s tenure, bilateral relations and cooperation would continue to grow and strengthen. He encouraged the Ambassador to continue building ties with relevant Cambodian ministries and institutions to further advance cooperation and achieve even more fruitful outcomes.

The Prime Minister and the Ambassador also discussed strengthening and expanding cooperation in key sectors, including economy and trade, education, agriculture, environment, renewable energy, healthcare, and security. Furthermore, they discussed cooperation within the ASEAN framework, and Her Excellency expressed her appreciation to Cambodia for supporting Brazil’s bid to become an ASEAN Sectoral Dialogue Partner.
